योजनानां शतं श्रीमांस्तीर्त्वाप्युत्तमविक्रमः। अनिःश्वसन् कपिस्तत्र न ग्लानिमधिगच्छति

Commentary
Hanuman surveys Lanka from the mountain peak. The city is described in detail — its gates, ramparts, moats and palaces. For the first time, Hanuman sees the object of his search: the city where Sita is held captive. The description combines wonder at Lanka's beauty with the knowledge of the evil it harbours.
