तपसा ब्रह्मचर्येण युक्तो राजन्वतीं प्रजाम् ।
पालयन् धर्मतो राजा रामो राजीवलोचनः ॥

Commentary
Rama protects his people through dharma, not through fear or force. His austerity and celibacy mark him as unique: a householder-king who also embodies renunciation. The ideal ruler governs by being, not by doing.
