एवंविधं कथयतां पौराणां शुश्रुवु स्तदा। दिग्भ्योपि श्रुतवृत्तान्ता: प्राप्ता जानपदा जनाः
evaṃvidhaṃ kathayatāṃ paurāṇāṃ śuśruvu stadā| digbhyopi śrutavṛttāntā: prāptā jānapadā janāḥ
Having heard about the coronation of Rama, villagers arrived from all directions and listened to the citizens conversing in this manner.

Commentary
Villagers arrive from all directions, having heard the news. The movement is centripetal — all of Ayodhya's hinterland flows toward the city. The coronation draws the entire kingdom to its capital, as a king's legitimacy is confirmed by the presence of his people.
