Translation (English)

The king (Dasaratha) offered Rama a seat on the lofty, glorious throne splendidly decorated with gold and gems.

M.N. Dutt (1891)

Commentary

Dasharatha offers Rama a throne splendid with gold and gems. The throne is described in detail — it is not merely a seat but a symbol of the cosmos over which Rama will rule. When Rama sits, the assembly sees the universe finding its centre.
