taṃ deva devopamamātmajaṃ te sarvasya lokasya hite niviṣṭam| hitāya naḥ kṣipramudārajuṣṭaṃ mudā'bhaṣektuṃ varada tvamarhasi
O bestower of boons it behoves you to install with delight and without delay your son (Rama) endowed with all virtues equal to god of the gods and committed to our wellbeing and to the welfare of this world, as your heirapparent. इत्यार्षे श्रीमद्रामायणे वाल्मीकीय आदिकाव्ये अयोध्याकाण्डे द्वितीयस्सर्गः।। Thus ends the second sarga of Ayodhyakanda of the holy Ramayana, the first epic composed by sage Valmiki.

The final verse of the sarga: install Rama without delay. The repetition of 'without delay' (acyutam) carries urgency. The assembly has spoken, the world has spoken, and now only Dasharatha must act. Sarga 2 closes with the stage set for the coronation — and for the tragedy that will interrupt it.
