तां चित्रमाल्याभरणां कपिराजहितङ्करः। राघवार्थं चरन् श्रीमान् ददर्श च ननन्द च

tāṃ citramālyābharaṇāṃ kapirājahitaṅkaraḥ| rāghavārthaṃ caran śrīmān dadarśa ca nananda ca

Translation (English)

Glorious Hanuman, wellwisher of Sugriva, king of vanaras, looked around the city, decorated with colourful garlands. Surveying it for the cause of Raghava, he was greatly delighted.

M.N. Dutt (1891)

Commentary

Hanuman moves through a city of colour — garlands, banners, painted walls. The sensory richness immerses the reader in Lanka's atmosphere. Yet Hanuman remains alert, his senses fully awake. Beauty does not distract him from his purpose.
