praviṣṭaḥ sattvasampanno niśāyāṃ mārutātmajaḥ sa mahāpathamāsthāya muktāpuṣpavirājitam| tatastu tāṃ purīṃ laṅkāṃ ramyāmabhiyayau kapiḥ

Commentary
Hanuman walks Lanka's broad highways, observing its shops and houses. Lanka is no crude fortress — it is a sophisticated city with wide, well-planned streets. Ravana's rule may be demonic, but his kingdom is magnificent. Good and evil here are not simple.
