निष्प्रमाणशरीरः सन् लिलङ्घयिषुरर्णवम्। बाहुभ्यां पीडयामास चरणाभ्यां च पर्वतम्

niṣpramāṇaśarīraḥ san lilaṅghayiṣurarṇavam| bāhubhyāṃ pīḍayāmāsa caraṇābhyāṃ ca parvatam

Translation (English)

Having swollen to an immeasurable figure, he pressed on the mountain with his feet and hands in an attempt to cross the ocean.

M.N. Dutt (1891)

Commentary

Hanuman's body becomes immeasurable (niṣpramāṇa) — a word that suggests he has transcended normal physical limits. His pressing on the mountain with hands and feet is the preparatory tension before release. The mountain becomes a launching pad, and Hanuman a living projectile of devotion.
