अक्षय्यं सुमहद्देवि प्रवृत्तं त्वद्विनाशनम्। रामं दशरथो राजा यौवराज्येऽभिषेक्ष्यति
akṣayyaṃ sumahaddevi pravṛttaṃ tvadvināśanam| rāmaṃ daśaratho rājā yauvarājye'bhiṣekṣyati
O queen, your end is approaching, and it has no end and it is overwhelming. King Dasaratha is crowning Rama as heirapparent.

Commentary
Manthara delivers the blow: 'Your end is approaching. Dasharatha is crowning Rama.' The news that should bring joy is framed as catastrophe. She does not attack the coronation itself but its consequence for Kaikeyi: if Rama rules, your son does not.
