स चैनं प्रश्रितं दृष्ट्वा सम्भाष्याभिप्रसाद्य च। प्रियार्हं हर्षयन्राममित्युवाच पुरोहितः
sa cainaṃ praśritaṃ dṛṣṭvā sambhāṣyābhiprasādya ca| priyārhaṃ harṣayanrāmamityuvāca purohitaḥ
The family priest Vasistha also, having gratified him by enquiring about his welfare, said thus to Rama, who was humble and lovable:

Commentary
Vasistha blesses Rama and enquires after his welfare. The formalities of a teacher greeting his student are observed even in this moment of great news. The sage's calm contrasts with Rama's excitement — wisdom is never in a hurry.
