Rama, approached his father with folded palms and bowed low near him, pronounced his (own) name and touched his father's feet with reverence.
— M.N. Dutt (1891)
Rama approaches his father with folded palms, bows low, pronounces his name, and touches Dasharatha's feet. The gesture of filial reverence is performed with complete grace — Rama, who is about to be crowned king, first bows as a son. Power does not erase humility.
