स तथेति प्रतिज्ञाय सुमन्त्रो राजशासनात्।।2.3.23।। रामं तत्रानयाञ्चक्रे रथेन रथिनां वरम्।
sa tatheti pratijñāya sumantro rājaśāsanāt rāmaṃ tatrānayāñcakre rathena rathināṃ varam|
In response to the king's command Sumantra, the best of charioteers said, 'so be it' and fetched Rama in a chariot.
— M.N. Dutt (1891)
Commentary
Sumantra bows and departs to fetch Rama. The brevity of his response ('So be it') contrasts with the grandeur of the occasion. The most faithful servants need few words. He returns with Rama in the royal chariot.
