दिव्यैर्गुणैश्शक्रसमो रामस्सत्यपराक्रमः। इक्ष्वाकुभ्योऽपि सर्वेभ्यो ह्यतिरिक्तो विशांपते

divyairguṇaiśśakrasamo rāmassatyaparākramaḥ| ikṣvākubhyo'pi sarvebhyo hyatirikto viśāṃpate

Translation (English)

Lord of the people Rama with his divine virtues is equal to Indra. He with his proven valour is exceptional among all the descendents of the Iksvakus.

M.N. Dutt (1891)

Commentary

Rama is equal to Indra in divine virtues and exceptional in proven valour. The assembly frames him as both divinely blessed and battle-tested — a ruler who commands by nature and by achievement. He has earned the throne twice over.
