Translation (English)

Then the kings (who entered the assembly) took the seats assigned to them facing the king (Dasaratha), following the royal tradition.

M.N. Dutt (1891)

Commentary

The kings take their assigned seats facing Dasharatha. The formal seating marks the gravity of the occasion. This is a constitutional moment — the transfer of power is being conducted with full ceremony and protocol, witnessed by the rulers of the known world.
