lokasya pāpāni vināśayantaṃ mahodadhiṃ cāpi samedhayantam| bhūtāni sarvāṇi virājayantaṃ dadarśa śītāṃśumathābhiyāntam
While moving forward, Hanuman saw the Moon spreading his light, thereby warding off the agony of all creatures, causing the swelling of the ocean and illuminating the earth as well as the sky.

Commentary
The moon rises over Lanka, spreading light that eases the suffering of all creatures. In this moment of peace, even the moon becomes Hanuman's ally — casting light where he needs to see and shadows where he needs to hide.
