जातमिष्टमपत्यं मे त्वमद्यानुपमं भुवि। दत्तमिष्टमधीतं च मया पुरुषसत्तम
jātamiṣṭamapatyaṃ me tvamadyānupamaṃ bhuvi| dattamiṣṭamadhītaṃ ca mayā puruṣasattama
O best of men I have obtained now a progeny of my liking in you and you have no equal on earth. I have given gifts, performed rituals and also studied (the Vedas) .

Commentary
Dasharatha calls Rama his 'progeny of liking' — the son he always wanted. He has given gifts, performed sacrifices, and now his final desire is to see Rama crowned. His life's account is balanced except for this one remaining joy.
