अवतार्य सुमन्त्रस्तं राघवं स्यन्दनोत्तमात्।।2.3.30।। पितुस्समीपं गच्छन्तं प्राञ्जलिः पृष्ठतोऽन्वगात्।
avatārya sumantrastaṃ rāghavaṃ syandanottamāt pitussamīpaṃ gacchantaṃ prāñjaliḥ pṛṣṭhato'nvagāt|
Sumantra assisted Rama while alighting from that splendid chariot and followed him with folded palms as Rama was proceeding towards his father.

Commentary
Sumantra assists Rama from the chariot and follows him with folded palms. The charioteer's devotion to Rama is evident in every gesture — he follows not as a servant but as a devoted soul. The verse captures the love that everyone in Ayodhya feels for Rama.
