इति प्रत्यर्च्य तान्राजा ब्राह्मणानिदमब्रवीत्। वसिष्ठं वामदेवं च तेषामेवोपशृण्वताम्

iti pratyarcya tānrājā brāhmaṇānidamabravīt| vasiṣṭhaṃ vāmadevaṃ ca teṣāmevopaśṛṇvatām

Translation (English)

Having honoured them (the invitees) in return for their response, king Dasaratha addressed Vasistha, Vamadeva and other brahmins.

M.N. Dutt (1891)

Commentary

Dasharatha turns to his royal priests Vasistha and Vamadeva. The moment shifts from politics to ritual — the king consults the brahmins who will conduct the coronation. The transfer of power requires not only the will of the people but the blessing of the gods.
