प्राप्य वर्षसहस्राणि बहून्यायूंषि जीवतः। जीर्णस्यास्य शरीरस्य विश्रान्तिमभिरोचये

Having lived for thousands of years this body is now worn out due to old age and therefore I want rest.

Commentary
The king announces plainly: 'I intend to install Rama.' The words that will set the tragedy in motion are spoken without drama. The simplicity of the statement makes it more powerful — no fanfare, no rhetoric, just a father's quiet declaration of his son's future.
